    Jan Olyslager exhibited in 1957 with, among others, Gerard Fieret and Ton Hoogendoorn.

    After following evening classes in drawing and painting at the academy during 1945 -1946, Jan Olyslager received a scholarship for the ´Vrije Academie´ in 1947. In 1948 he was admitted to the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague where, given his talent and pre-studies, was placed directly in fourth grade by Mr. Meyer. During this period he completed many model drawings and Still Lifes. Also during this time period he made a study trip to Switzerland and worked as an advertising designer in the Netherlands. In 1950 he received a scholarship for a study trip through France, along with collegue student Aart van den IJssel.
